Catlin Gabel Volunteer Day
Peninsula Children’s Center welcomes Catlin Gabel Middle School service learning students into our program as part of their work in communities across the Portland metro area. Service is an opportunity to share with the larger community, and it’s a core value and mission for Catlin Gabel. We are so pleased to have these young community service volunteers participate in play-based education with our bright, young learners!

Multnomah County Library Story Time at Peninsula
Chris Ablutz “Cricket”, our new Multnomah County Library volunteer, will visit Peninsula Children’s Center every first Wednesday of the month to read stories to our Junior and Preschool children. Chris is a retired kindergarten teacher certified in special education with a Masters degree in Reading and Literacy, so she has lots to offer both children and teachers. She’s a great resource for our teachers who are always looking for more ways to share early literacy skills with children, and she also helps classrooms with the Raising a Reader program.
The schedule for library story times is:
9:15 Preschool I and II combined (in Pre II Room)
9:45 Preschool III
10:15 Junior II
10:45 Junior III
